Sustainable HIV care and Treatment Action in Nigeria (SUSTAIN)

In October 2015, CFHI become a sub-recipient of the CDC PEPFAR funds through CCFN SUSTAIN project. CFHI entered into a partnership with CCFN to conduct a Community HIV Testing and Counselling (HTC) for 150,000 residents in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) using the door-to-door model promoted by CFHI. CFHI was responsible for mapping locations (including hard to reach communities), creation and deployment of teams, community mobilization, community outreaches, HTC according to national algorithm, referral, tracking and linkage services, care and support among others. CFHI also provided allied medical services BP check, BMI check to boast participation in the exercise.

At the completion of the project, CFHI provided HIV testing and counseling services to two hundred and seven thousand, five hundred and forty-seven (207,547) residents of the FCT, through nine hundred and fifty-three (953) community outreaches in over forty-seven (47) communities. A total of Four Hundred and Thirty-Two (432) HIV+ new cases were successfully linked to care in various treatment sites.
