CFHI celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11th at Gbaupe and GUI communities secondary schools in Abuja. Around 150 students attended the event, where the girls were educated on safe Menstrual Hygiene Management practices, Child Marriage, and Teenage Pregnancy. Additionally, over 65 packs of reusable SafePads were distributed to girls who do not have access to sanitary pads on behalf of generous donors, including Yagazie and Chimamanda Nsofor.
The boys were not left out, as more than 30 boys were sensitized about menstruation to promote empathy, respect, equality, and healthy relationships that will foster a more informed and inclusive society where menstruation is not a taboo topic but a natural aspect of human biology.
