World Blood Donor Day is celebrated annually to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
In line with this year’s theme “Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives”, Centre for Family Health Initiative and National Blood Transfusion Service commemorated the day at Mpape Junction, Abuja during the weekend.
45 people got their blood checked for blood donation, and all those qualified successfully donated their blood.
